Why?

Why convert Otly to a station wagon? Good question! And one which many people have asked me. Basically, it is my response to new childseat legislation introduced, in September of this year, by the British Government which effectively outlaws children from side facing seats. Children under 133cm must be in a British Standard childseat. B.S. child seats cannot be fitted in side facing seats.

Bah! Humbug!

If I wasn't so nicely brought up I would use worse words.

To my mind, owning a Otly is largely about familly and children. It's not a sensible vehicle, but it is fun. It can take you places and carry all the stuff and the kids are proud of it.

For a while it looked like Otly would have to go until I remembered a thought that had previously gone through my mind for other reasons. Can you convert a 3-door truck to a 5-door station wagon?

So I asked about and people said "yes, you can".

Many people also said "why?" It's a good truck, leave it be! Why not just buy a station wagon?

If I'd had the money originally, I would have bought a station wagon but beggars cannot be choosers. Besides which, I am irrationally attached to my LandRover....a feeling which only other LandRover owners can understand. It may not look like the same vehicle when I'm finished with it but I'll know it is.
